Title: Robotics – What does it mean for the future of CSSDs?
Speakers: Miss Alison Little, Mr John Allen
Overview: Through automated cleaning and disinfecting (the Echidna), and sterilizing (the Lynx) reusable medical instruments, Atherton CSSD robots a safer and healthier workplace, supporting and delivering better outcomes for staff by improving flow in their work processes, and reducing the risk of workplace injuries, such as those caused by repetitious lifting.
To RSVP: Atherton will manage the registrations for their session directly, if you wish to attend or put in your expression of interest – please contact jldanre@atherton.net

Title: Efficiency vs efficacy in the reprocessing cycle
Speaker: Laina Coffey
Overview: How to approach a cycle profile review outside the annual requalification / validation process. How this can improve efficiencies & the efficacy of reprocessing outcomes in your department.
Date: Thursday 10 August 2023
Time: 7:45am – 8:25am
Location: Studio 3&4
Title: Value preservation of instruments and reducing costs through optimised deep-cleaning and passivation processes: maintaining instrument lustre with staff and patients protected!
Speaker: Ben Siegmund – International Sales Manager (Borer Chemie)
Overview: The presentation will look at the differences between the alternative acids used for treating stainless steel surgical instruments and how their use yields different results for the user. It is a research-based presentation, using data from a series of studies conducted between Borer Chemie and EMPA (Swiss Federal Laboratories for Materials Testing and Research) over the last two years to show a) the differences between the different acids, b) the outcomes of using the different acids, c) the process to achieve the best outcomes, d) new research just completed showing how using deconex 34 GR reduces protein adhesion to the surface of stainless steel instruments meaning the instruments are “less dirty” when treated with 34 GR.

Title: Digital Transformation in the CSSD – Innovative tools to reduce equipment downtime and improve staff competency
Speaker: Peter Branton (Director Business Development, ECOLAB Heathcare ANZ)
Overview: Digital transformations are a fundamental reality for most business today and the CSSD is no exception. The need to work smarter, not harder has never been so important.
Ecolab, through its partnership with Belimed are using technology to upskill staff, enhance equipment visibility, boost productivity and reduce unplanned downtime of critical CSSD infrastructure.
In this session we will demonstrate how the ‘Smarthub Orbit’ platform from Belimed is being used to set new standards in monitoring and improving equipment performance in the CSSD, turning machine data into valuable insights that are available anytime, anywhere, on any device.
